Hey

Ok last night it was brought to my attention that "The Varangian Guards" doesn't sound as effective as just "Varangian Guards."

I'm not sure if many of you guys know this but Varangian Guards was actually a mercenary company in ancient history around the 10th Century AD. They were all Vikings who worked for the Byzantium Emperor. Now looking at that info they were just called "Varangian Guards" so im more inclined to go with that rather than have "The" at the beginning.

Yup, it's better without "the".

To me its a minor thing and it all comes down to this:

Having "The" at the front makes it sound like we are the only and real Varangian Guards.

Not having "The" at the front makes it sound more like we are a collection of Varangian Guards but not the only ones.

So to me its more of a roleplaying thing and i never did much roleplaying in a game,
